1. Early diagnosis and treatment is the only way to prevent permanent visual loss in most of the eye diseases. So regular eye check up is required even in absence of symptoms.
2. All diabetics needs regular dilated fundus (retina) evaluation every 6 months or yearly irrespective of diabetic (sugar levels) status.
3. All patients above age of 50-60 years with distortion of vision or central scotoma ( black spot) needs retinal examination to rule out possibility of ARMD ( Age re?ated macular degenartion).
4. All babies born before time ( Preterm), need screening by retina specialist for ROP ( Retinopathy of prematurity) a potentially blinding disease of retina.
5. All patients with myopia and those with symptoms of floaters/flashes needs dilated retinal peripheral lesions like lattice/retinal hole & tears which are potential precursors of retinal detachment.
6. All patients after LASIK surgery, still needs regular retinal evaluation every 6 months/1 year.
7.Orthokeratology: Patients who are not fit for LASIK surgery , spectacle removal is possible by special contact lense without surgery.
